April is a great time to visit Malta. I had a fantastic week doing research for Books Two and Three in Valletta, exploring the countryside, and meeting people at the Gozo Central Public Library. We had typical island weather – fresh winds, occasional showers (some very heavy) and lovely sunshine, too.
Days 1 and 3 – The National Library of Malta

Spent two mornings poring over newspaper articles from 1880 and 1881. Lots of great details stored away for reference.
Day 2 – Exploring the countryside.

So interesting to enjoy the countryside, away from the more-populated areas. We went to Dingli Cliffs, Buskett Gardens and a secret location with superb views.
Day 5 – Author Talk at Gozo Public Library

It was a real privilege to visit the Gozo Central Public Library and talk about Death in Valletta. It was such a pleasure to meet people who came to the event – despite the torrents of rain! A big thank you to Simon Wallace and the Gozo Book Club for inviting me, and Elizabeth, Silvio and Marie at the library, who were so welcoming.
Day 6 – Exploring Gozo

We went to Ta’ Dbiegi Crafts Village, Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu and walking on the coast near Dwejra Tower. Gozo is an incredibly beautiful island and we were made to feel so welcome. I hope to be back again soon!
